What fields does Wiseburn Little League use?
Check out Our Fields.
How do I register my child?
Please visit our Registration Page for all updates and programs offered. Spring season registration usually takes place November-January, and July-August for Fall Ball. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for details about registration. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] for any registration questions.
Who is eligible to play?
We offer baseball for players who are League Age 4-13 during the spring and 7-13
during the fall. All players who live in OR attend a school within our boundaries are eligible to play.
Click here for our boundaries map.
In addition, beginning in 2025, players who are League Age 4-7 may register to play in Wiseburn Little League regardless of residence or school location.
What is my child's League Age?
Your child’s League Age is their age as of Aug 31 for Baseball.
Click here for the League Age calculator.
What programs do you offer?
Our enrollment numbers and the availability of volunteer coaches ultimately determine which
programs we can offer in any given season. Generally, teams may be formed in the following
divisions:
Baseball (co-ed)
T-Ball – ages 4-5, tee only
Single A – ages 5-6, combination coach pitch/tee
Double A – ages 7-8, combination machine/player pitch
Triple A – ages 9-10
Majors – ages 11-12
Intermediate 50/70 – age 13
Questions about placement should be sent to [email protected].
How long does the season generally run?
Spring season: March - June
Fall season: September - November
When are player assessments (tryouts)?
Player assessments for the spring season are typically held in mid-January and are required for
all players, except those in T-Ball and Single A baseball.
Please watch for an email for specific day/time assignments after registration.
Why does my child need to try out?
Player assessments ensure that your child is placed in an appropriate division based on his/her
skills. Teams are formed with each child's best interests and safety in mind.
May I request a specific coach or teammates?
For T-Ball and Single A baseball, we can often accommodate requests to play with family or friends, but specific requests are not guaranteed. For higher divisions, team rosters are developed based on player evaluations and we cannot place players with a specific coach or teammates, though sibling requests will be considered.
What does my registration include?
Specific details for each season (fall or spring) will vary, but registration typically includes a
jersey, hat, basic picture package, trophy or medal(division dependent), tournament entry fees (division dependent), and insurance. Registration fees also cover clinics (when available), equipment, umpires, field improvements, and league charter fees.
What equipment do I need to provide?
Baseball can feel like an equipment heavy sport, but in its purest form you really only need a glove, a ball, and a bat. We do need a little more to play on an organized team, like a helmet, a cup, and some cleats. We like to be safe while we're having fun! Please let us know if you have any questions about the equipment or if you find the equipment to be a burden in any way ([email protected])
1. Glove:
A glove is the one piece of equipment truly required for any and all players. The most important aspect of the glove is being well broken in with a decent pocket. We recommend getting a bigger glove than you think, even for young players. We recommend a minimum 10.0"-10.5” gloves, even for Tee Ball and Single A players. Stronger players will quickly advance to 11.0"-11.5" gloves. AAA players and above will typically have gloves that are 11" and larger. Make sure the glove is well broken in or conditioned, so the player is able to squeeze it. Most recommend that youth players should not play with a glove that is larger than 12”. Little League restricts maximum glove size to no more than 14” in length and 8” in width.
Please note that pitcher’s gloves may not, exclusive of piping, be white or light gray (see Rule 1.15 in the Little League Rulebook).
Catchers must use a catcher’s mitt and cannot use a first baseman or other fielder’s glove – the League will provide catcher’s mitt and gear to each team; players may choose to bring their own but do not have to.
2. Cleats:
Cleats are recommended for Tee Ball/Single A players and are required for AA and above. Soccer cleats are acceptable for AA divisions and below. Rubber-soled or rubber-cleated shoes are permitted. Metal cleats are prohibited for all divisions except 50/70 (13U).
3. Bat:
For Majors, AAA, AA, A, and Tee Ball, all bats must bear the USABat licensing stamp with a barrel diameter no more than 2-5/8 inches to be used in Little League baseball. No exceptions! Players using other bats (USSSA, etc) during games will be called out by the umpire. Please, USABat stamped bats only! In the 50/70 division, USA bats OR BBCOR bats are allowed. For additional information about Little League’s bat rules, please visit their info page linked here, or reference Rule 1.10 in the Little League Rulebook: https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-information/
Please see links below to a few bat sizing guides to determine the proper bat length for your player. Please note that bigger bats do not always lead to bigger hits. The player needs to be able to swing the bat with the correct timing in order to put the ball in play!

Dick’s Sporting Goods: https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/s/baseball-softball-bat-finder
4. Batting Helmet:
Each player is required to have their own baseball batting helmet. The helmet needs to be a proper baseball helmet (not a helmet repurposed from another sport) with the NOCSAE stamp. The use of face masks and jaw guards on protective head gear is not required, but it is recommended for additional safety.
5. Cup:
A protective cup is required for all male players. Female players are not required to wear a protective cup.
6. Uniform:
Wiseburn Little League will provide each player with a team jersey and hat. Players are responsible for purchasing their own pants, belts, and socks. Please hold off on purchasing baseball pants, belt, and socks until team names and uniform colors have been determined. Your manager/head coach will be in touch a few weeks before the season starts with details about the uniform colors and recommended style/color for pants, belt, and socks.
Where/when are practices held?
Spring season practices begin in mid to late February and are held at local schools, including
Hollyglen Elementary, Aviation Elementary, Da Vinci Connect, and Wiseburn Middle School. Practice schedules will be determined after teams are formed. Families can expect 1 or 2 practices/week, depending on division. T-Ball does not practice during the week.
Because AYSO Region 21 has use of the fields during the fall, the fall practice schedule is limited (1 practice/week on a designated day).
Where/when will my child play games?
Spring season games usually begin in March. T-Ball and Single A Baseball play intra-league games at Aviation Elementary, primarily on Saturdays. Double A Baseball plays intraleague games at Da Vinci Connect, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays. Triple A Baseball and Majors Baseball play intraleague games at Wiseburn Middle School, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays but may play some weekday evenings. Intermediate 50/70 Baseball has the opportunity to travel within District 37 for inter-league games and may also play some weekday evenings.
During the spring season, T-Ball and Single A Baseball typically play 1 game per week,
while Double A Baseball and up play 1 or 2 games per week. Following the close of the regular spring season, Triple A Baseball, Majors Baseball, and Intermediate 50/70 Baseball may have the opportunity to play in inter-league playoff and/or All-Star games.
Fall season games begin in October, and all divisions typically play 1 game per week. Double A
Baseball and Triple A Baseball play intra-league games at Da Vinci Connect or Wiseburn Middle School. Majors Baseball, Intermediate 50/70 Baseball, and Juniors Baseball primarily play inter-league games within District 37 and may travel to other nearby locations (Holly Park, Lawndale, Westchester, etc.) for away games.

VOLUNTEERING
Wiseburn Little League is a completely volunteer-run nonprofit. We rely heavily on parent volunteers to run the league.
Beginning in Spring 2025, a volunteer deposit of $250 will be required for each player in the League. Families must provide a check for the deposit at Player Evaluations (AA, AAA, Majors, 50/70) or prior to uniform distribution (T-Ball, Single A). The League will only cash the check if, at the end of the season, the family has not fulfilled their volunteer commitment. Otherwise, the check will be returned once the volunteer role has been completed.
Families can fulfill their volunteer commitment by working two (2) snack stand shifts OR volunteering for one of the following team roles (per registered player):
Coach
Assistant Coach
Team Parent
Scorekeeper
Field Prep
How do I sign up to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Scorekeeper, Team Parent, or to assist with game day Field Prep?
Please visit our team staff registration page to register as a volunteer. Feel free to email us at [email protected] with any further questions.
Do I have to complete a background check to volunteer?
To ensure player safety, all new and returning coaches, scorekeepers, team parents, and board members, and any other volunteers with regular, or repetitive access to players or teams must complete a background check ANNUALLY. Background checks are completed directly with a third-party provider; the league does not see or have access to any volunteer's personal information. Background checks are paid for by the League. For more information on the background check policy and process, please visit the Little League website or contact [email protected].
Beginning in 2025, volunteers will also need to complete a one-time LiveScan background check as required by California law. If you already have had a LiveScan check through another organization, you will still need to do it again for Little League.
